Fred has loved rowing ever since he sat in a boat 4 years ago and has grown through the highs and lows of the sport. He won silver in the Novice Double Sculls at the 2019 Maadi Cup and was named Most Conscientious Rower in 2020 at Marlborough Boys College. In 2021 Fred was named a prefect and head of Awatere house at Marlborough Boys College, has completed his bronze and silver Duke of Edinburgh Awards as well as being part of the group attending the Wellington Young Leaders conference. He was also named MBC rowing team captain. This year he won the Men’s Club Coxless Pairs Oars at the National Championship and won a silver medal in the in the Boys U18 Coxless Pair Oars at the 2021 Maadi Cup and was selected as stroke for the NZ u19 8’s which will compete against Australia (covid allowing).
