Mana started playing Badminton while still at primary school. Seven years on and he still enjoys the challenge of the sport that requires fitness, a high skill level and a mental edge to achieve at a top level. In 2018 Mana and his brother were the Under 13 Boys Doubles Champions for the South Island, in 2017 and 2018 Mana was the Tasman Secondary Schools Champion and in 2021 he was named Queen Charlotte Senior Sportsman of the year. Mana’s coaches commented on the hard work he has put into achieve his goal of representing the Mainland U17 Squad to compete at the National Junior Champs later this year. With not enough junior players in Marlborough to form a team Mana must regularly travel out of Marlborough for team trainings and tournaments – a testament to his determination to succeed. In the next five years Mana wants to have represented NZ in the Australasian and Asian Champs.
