Kathryn began rowing while at Villa Maria College, winning selection in the U18 South Island team in only her second year often up against much older rowers. Now 18, Kathryn has multiple national NZ medals and a bronze from the 2018 Jnr World Champs in Prague. This Grant helps Kathryn to represent NZ in Florida for the 2019 U23 World Rowing Champs as the next step towards her Olympic dreams.
