Maggie McConnochie is 16 and one of New Zealand’s top young pipers. She is the youngest player ever to join St Andrew’s College’s A Band and currently serves as Pipe Corporal. In 2024, she became the NZ U21 Solo Bagpiping Champion and won the Colmunn na Piobaireachd Silver Medal — the youngest to do so. She placed in the top five at the world’s most prestigious U23 solo event and previously placed third with her band at the World Pipe Band Championships in Scotland. This Grant supports her return to Scotland to compete at elite solo events, including the MacGregor Memorial. Maggie’s goal is to reach A grade internationally and win both the Silver and Gold Medals.
