Phoebe Hunt, 17, has excelled in orienteering, representing NZ in national and international competitions. In 2024, she was selected for the NZ Jnr World Orienteering Champs team. Additionally, she has been part of the NZ Secondary Schools team from 2020 to 2024. Phoebe’s recent accomplishments include placing 3rd in the National Orienteering League in the open/elite grade for the 2023/2024 season. She has also achieved top positions in various national competitions, demonstrating her consistency and skill. This grant supports her travel expenses to the World Champs in Pilsen, Czechia. Competing on such a significant international stage will provide her with invaluable experience and the opportunity to represent NZ. Over the next year, Phoebe aims to focus on running clean, fast races and learning from her experiences. Long-term, Phoebe aspires to enhance her fitness and technique, aiming for top results at future champs and promoting orienteering in NZ.
