Eighteen-year-old Reo Takeuchi will represent New Zealand at the 2025 Senior World Karate Championships in Cairo, having qualified through the Oceania Championships. He is a silver medallist at both the 2025 Oceania Champs and the Australian Open in the U21 –67kg division, and previously won silver at the 2022 Commonwealth Championships. Reo is studying Commerce at the University of Canterbury while training and working part-time. This Grant supports his international competition expenses as he prepares to face the world’s best.
