Samuel has won two national titles, achieved a NZ No.1 ranking, and national champs gold medals in U17 and U21 in the same year. Now 18 he recently beat the Senior Mens (21+) national champ. Having been selected for the U21 NZ team competing at the Oceania Judo Champs in Canberra, this Grant supported Samuel’s training and travel. Sam won gold in the 60kg weight class, taking him a step closer to a World Ranking and the 2020 Olympics.
