Zach has been swimming since he was 3. He loved being underwater so when he discovered Underwater Hockey at the age of 8, he knew he had found his sport. In 2022 Zach was selected to be in the Top Of the South U18 team to compete in Wellington, where they achieved a bronze medal. Zach was also named in the NZ U19 training squad for the Asia/Pacific tournament in Brisbane this year. He will find out at the end of April if he has made the NZ team. From there he hopes to make the NZ U19 team for the World Games in Turkey next year. His coach talks of Zach’s phenomenal speed and stamina which helps him to succeed in this very physically and mentally demanding sport. He believes Zach to have the makings of a world class player.
