At 18, Hector McNeilly is New Zealand's No.1-ranked Open Men's target archer, a position he has held since January 2026. He won silver in the Under 18 compound at the 2025 World Archery Youth Championships in Winnipeg after qualifying first in ranking — New Zealand's best ever result at the event. In 2026 he set two NZ Open Men records, becoming the first New Zealand archer to shoot a perfect 150 matchplay score, and he holds the majority of NZ youth records across U16, U18 and U21. This Grant supports his travel to international competitions, including in the USA where he has secured a university archery scholarship as he works toward compound archery's Olympic debut at Los Angeles 2028.
