Amelia McConnochie-Prior 17, made her first splash at six months old, setting the stage for a dedicated career in artistic swimming. Training at Selwyn Artistic Swimming Club in Rolleston, she quickly progressed to being selected for NZ’s Koru team at 13. Despite COVID-19 disruptions, Amelia made her international debut in Hong Kong last year. This year, she earned a spot at the Jnr Worlds after standout performances at the Australian National Champs and multiple medals at the South Island Champs. Beyond competing, Amelia also coaches and is training to become a judge, nurturing future talent. This grant supports her to attend the Jnr World Champs, helping her to work towards competing at next year’s World Champs in Singapore, her dream to become an Olympian and to establish her own club.
