Having an aptitude for sport for most of his life, Dom discovered indoor target shooting in year 8 of school. For him it was the perfect mix of patience, competitiveness, focus and self-control that appealed to him. He has shot competitively for 2 years and represented New Zealand twice in the past year in this sport. He has been accepted into the New Zealand junior development. He was also placed 2nd for men and 5th overall at the National secondary school championships and was selected the New Zealand team to face Great Britain. This year was second in the under 21 men’s team (he is 16 years old) and selected for the New Zealand Under 21 team. He was also placed in the top 10 men overall. Dom aims to be selected for the 2021 Oceania Shooting Championships and his long-term goal is to compete at the 2024 Paris Olympics.
