From piano aged 5, then flute aged 8, Emica’s lifetime love of music has led to outstanding exam results, impressive competition success, scholarships and positions in many orchestras. Now 18, Emica’s extensive repertoire includes classical, jazz, chamber music, orchestral, and symphonic band. She has also held a number of leadership roles and was the first recipient of the Christchurch Youth Orchestra award for standout player. Now studying a BMus in Classical Performance in Flute at Victoria University, this Grant will enable Emica to purchase a piccolo towards becoming a professional musician, and then a professional music therapist as part of her passion to help others.
