Isabella’s rugby career started at age 9 when she was often the only female on the field. She is the current captain of the MGC 1st XV and for the last two years has been selected for the wider Tasman Mako squad as a Tighthead Prop. In 2023 she was accepted into the Hyundai Pinnacle Programme which was created to identify young New Zealanders with potential, develop their skills and prepare them to be this country’s next generation of leaders. Isabella is deeply passionate about rugby and is constantly pushing herself towards ambitious goals. This year she has been accepted into the International Rugby Academy of NZ, (set up by Murray Mexted), whose coaching staff and tutors represent some of the most qualified and highly-respected coaches and former players in world rugby today. This a fabulous opportunity for Isabella and our Inspire Grant is helping her achieve this.
