Johan has competed in Weightlifting and Crossfit since he was 12 and holds multiple NZ and Oceania weightlifting records including an unofficial Commonwealth record. Now 17 he is one of only 10 teenagers to qualify out of the 2000 who applied to compete at the World Crossfit Games in USA. This Grant will help Johan to the Games, as his next step towards the 2024 Olympics for Weightlifting and to achieve his passion for helping others by eventually qualifying as a primary school teacher.
