Aged 23, Nikki is studying a Master’s of Speech-Language Pathology at Canterbury University to build on her BA in psychology and linguistics. She is undertaking important research on treatments for adults with language/fluency speech disorders following a stroke. Having caught the eye of international specialists Nikki has been accepted to present at the premier international convention for speech-language therapists (Neurogenic Stuttering at the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association) in USA. This Grant enables Nikki to take up this extremely rare invitation to present her original research which will also expose her to important opportunities towards a PhD.
