Tayla is a 5th year Law and Commerce student at Canterbury Uni with a passion for people. Growing up in a family dealing with addiction and mental health issues has seen Tayla determinedly achieve academic excellence so she could make a difference in the community. At 22, she has achieved Academic Excellence awards, Emerging Leadership Scholarship, PM Scholarship to Peking University for a cultural exchange, and started a charity to improve men’s mental health at UC (‘Lads Without Labels’). This Grant will help Tayla get to Vienna University where she’s been selected to study Business and Economics as the next step towards a lifetime of helping Christchurch families and communities experiencing financial and mental issues.
