I’m 20 years old and began rowing at Marlborough Boys’ College around age 13. Years of dedication and excellent coaching led to a major milestone in 2022 when, at 17, I was selected for the New Zealand junior representative rowing team in the quad. Since leaving school, I’ve been studying a Bachelor of Science in biology with a minor in psychology at the University of Canterbury, while continuing to compete at a high level in the senior club division.
I have consistently performed at the top of my events, earning multiple awards for top sculler and top crew, and have represented New Zealand at world championships as well as the South Island in inter-island competitions. Currently, I am honoured to represent the South Island at the Oceania Rowing Regatta in Adelaide, Australia, a reflection of years of training, determination, and perseverance.
Over the next year, I aim to push my limits in rowing, improving both physically and technically to reach a higher level of performance. In the next five years, my goal is to continue developing as an athlete and individual, performing at the highest standard possible while completing my degree and building the skills and resilience that will benefit both my sporting and professional future.
