I grew up in Marlborough with a passion for sport and a goal of representing New Zealand. While attending high school in Christchurch and studying at Canterbury University, I played age-group representative Netball, Touch, and Water Polo. I’ve coached at St Margaret’s College, leading Senior A Water Polo and various Netball teams, and served as Sports Prefect, captaining multiple teams. Since 2020, I’ve been part of the Canterbury Senior Women’s Water Polo team and was selected for Mainland Netball Emerging Talent Squads in 2023 and 2024. I’ve also been chosen for the New Zealand Water Polo University Games Women’s Team to compete at the 2025 World University Games.
My achievements include serving as Secretary of the University of Canterbury Water Polo Club, earning MVP and Players’ Player for Lincoln University B Netball Team, completing the Queenstown Marathon in 2024, and receiving leadership awards such as the Jocelyn Freeman Rose Bowl and St Margaret’s College Excellence in Sport Award. Overcoming a ruptured ACL and torn meniscus in my final year of school taught me resilience and determination, which continue to shape me as an athlete.
Over the next year, I aim to compete at a high level at the University World Games and grow as an athlete and mentor. In the next five years, I hope to continue playing sport at an elite level, particularly Water Polo, with the ultimate goal of representing New Zealand on the Senior Women’s Water Polo Team.
